The Reverend Katie C. Pearson serves as Canon Pastor at Saint John’s Cathedral in Denver, Colorado. As Canon Pastor, Katie leads the cathedral, following the direction of the Dean, as a pastor, a priest, and a teacher, sharing in the councils of the congregation and of the whole church in communion with the Bishop. Katie overseas all pastoral ministries as well as Christian Formation communications. She is especially passionate about working with lay leadership and Pastoral Care ministries.
Katie has been a high school English teacher, an engaged volunteer, an active lay leader in the Church, and a later-in-life priest. Her family has lived overseas, in the Southeast, the Upper Midwest, the Mid-Atlantic, and now the Rocky Mountain West. Katie and Don have three adult children, two of whom live within a mile of them in Denver.
Katie earned her Master of Divinity from The Iliff School of Theology and her Diploma of Anglican Studies from Sewanee’s School of Theology. She serves on The Episcopal Church in Colorado’s Commission on Ministry and as Chaplain for the Colorado Assembly of Daughters of the King. She also serves on Sewanee’s Board of Trustees. Don is happily retired and keeps their two labs, Pearl and June, tired out.
