The Rev. M. Cristina Paglinauan is Associate Rector for Community Engagement at The Church of the Redeemer http://www.redeemerbaltimore.org/ , a vibrant parish of 700 households in north Baltimore, where she has served since 2010. In her current position, she oversees Redeemer’s engagement in the city of Baltimore through key community partnerships and serves on the leadership team of BUILD, Baltimoreans United In Leadership Development, a broad-based power organization and affiliate of Metro-Industrial Areas Foundation, committed to changing Baltimore for the better https://www.buildiaf.org/ A certified yoga instructor, Cristina fins the intersection of Eastern and Western spirituality life-giving and enjoys leading Yoga Church Redeemer.
Prior to graduating from General Theological Seminary in June 2010 and becoming an Episcopal priest, Cristina enjoyed a variety of work and travel experiences, including teaching and mentoring underserved and at-risk youth in Baltimore and Colorado; creating a diabetes prevention program for the Crownpoint Indian Health Service on the Navajo Reservation in NM; and living as a volunteer in a monastery in Israel where she co- led a sailing-service experience for Jewish, Christian, and Muslim youth. She earned her A.B. in Government from Harvard College in 1992 and attended The Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore.
Cristina is married to David Lloyd Warner, a jazz and basketball enthusiast who teaches history at The St. Paul’s Schools in Brooklandville, MD. They have two children, Grace (22) and Ben (15), and a green-eyed, snow white cat named Olmsted. They treasure their summer visits to Maine and reconnecting with the sweet community of All Saints by-the-Sea. While in Southport, hiking Porter’s Preserve and eating at Cozy’s Dockside Cafe have become family favorites.
